ROBERT, La. – A remotely operated vehicle successfully caps a pipe leaking oil, May 4-5, 2010. The ROV was critical in completing the subsea operations and stopping one of the three leaks. Video provided by BP.

A US Coast Guard admiral and a civilian speaker address the media about the recent underwater oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, plans for a controlled burning of the spilled oil, preparations for other methods of clean-up and plans to stop the oil leak. This is a solution proposal for stopping or reducing the current oil leak caused by the Deepwater Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico. The biggest difficulty is implementing it at 5000 feet depth. Would be interested in knowing what others think about the feasability of this proposal and how to improve it. A special thank you goes out to all those helping out in this disaster.
