Feds cautious on timing for new cap in Gulf leak
Undersea robots manipulated by engineers a mile above were expected to begin work Saturday removing the containment cap over the gushing well head in the Gulf of Mexico to replace it with a tighter-fitting cap that could funnel all the oil to tankers at the surface.

There has been a great effort to mislead the public regarding the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. It has now come out that the ‘live feed’ of the leak is of a smaller leak, about 5-6 miles away from the one that is spewing about 100 000 barrels of oil into the Guf every day. Last Wednesday, May 28, BP made and attempt at the ‘top kill’ method of pumping drilling mud into the hole and claimed soon after that this was somewhat working. But on MSNBC, Nicholas Pozzi of WOW Energy Solutions said the probability of top-kill working is low, may also cause explosion and blow top off, making it worse. Have not put an o-ring in it, so they are basically just pumping mud into the water.( An O-ring is a mechanical gasket to join 2 parts together, creating a seal.) www.youtube.com May 29 it was revealed that the top kill method has failed, as anticipated by Mr. Pozzi. www.youtube.com Ixtoc 1 Oil rig blowout of 1979 Drilling mud being replaced with seawater (in this case accidentally, as opposed to the intentional replacement of it at Deepwter Horizon, overseen by Haliburton) led to the blowout of this rig in the Gulf of Mexico in 1979. All methods of stopping the leak failed except for drilling a release well. MIAMI –- Members of the Coast Guard, National Park Service, and staff from Pelican Harbor Seabird Station in Miami, unload 23 crates with 45 brown pelican chicks Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The pelicans, ranging in age from 5-to-10 weeks old, had been impacted in the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill and previously cared for at Fort Jackson Bird Rehabilitation Center in Buras, La. The chicks were transported to Pelican Harbor Seabird Station in Miami where they will remain until they can fly and be released into the wild. AP: Gulf leak could be contained by Monday
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The BP oil leak could be completely contained as early as Monday if a new, tighter cap can be fitted over the blown-out well, the government official in charge of the crisis said Friday in some of the most encouraging news to come out of the Gulf in the 2 1/2 months since the disaster struck.

In this clip the ROV (remotely operated vehicle) is checking and adjusting pressures with a digital pressure guage on the BOP (blowout preventer). I think I saw 2200 lbs/sq. in. was the pressure read 9:35. They use the manipulator arm on the ROV to grab a pressure line and plug it in to a value. If they decide to do a ‘junk shot’ the junk will probably be on the sea floor ready to inject at the manifold which is located near the well head and is currently feeding drilling mud into BOP Kill line inlet.
