Oil Spill Threatens Native American “Water” Village

Posted on July 02, 2010 by bp complaints

The town of Grand Bayou, Louisiana, has no streets and no cars, just water and boats. And now the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico threatens the very existence of the Atakapa-Ishak Indians who live there. “We’re facing the potential for cultural genocide,” says one tribe member.

    These Luciferians that caused this hate God and nature….Don’t expect any help from B.P. or Gov….Your way of life may change along with millions of other Americans…Alaska? That may not be a bad choice. Dress for the weather. God Bless.

    This is a wonderful video. What concerns me is the fact that health issue for those
    being exposed to toxic oil hasn’t been addressed, at least not to my satisfaction. The
    treat is real, and these incredible people need to know how to protect themselves
    when coming in contact with toxic oil. Respirators, protective clothing from head to toe, basically Biohazard equipment. People who are coming in contact with the oil
    are getting sick, the long-term effects, life threatening.

  5. ronpaulisacommunist says:

    Democrats and BP did this on purpose.

  6. Makron5 says:

    DRILL BABY DRILL!

  7. Makron5 says:

    @ronpaulisacommunist It’s more of Republicans that are at fault since it was rushed under their tenure wasn’t it? Either way though, death to BP!

    Where are all of the Indians???
    That’s where all this derived from, Get It???
    We use to have the richest culture, best fishing, hunting, and trees.
    What ever happened to being content and taking only what you can use, and leaving more than you take.
    Living simple life 🙂
    Successful people are selfish, until we learn how to live with earth will we ever learn what it means to be alive.
    Watch the Earth Song by Michael Jackson, he knew and they killed him :*(

  12. mamushi72sai5575 says:

    @NightforDays I thought so. It just sounded funny to say science instead of god. forgive me.

  13. NightforDays says:

    @mamushi72sai5575
    I used the term “God bless these people” because the man at the end of the video said, “I love everything God created.” He projected that this wildlife he spent his life working with is the creation of his God. I hope they find a place to move to where they can continue working in a natural habitat.

  14. susanyeoable says:

    This sort of thing is so disturbing, Oh yea we will always have disasters as long as we have men to cause them, whether intentional or not it makes me scream like every one else, i really feel for these people and the wild life, everythings a mess.

  15. mamushi72sai5575 says:

    @NightforDays

    science bless these people

    @SeekerKC Well to be honest about it your exactaly right ,some of the tribes here have went back to teaching their language in their schools,witch ones I couldn’t tell you for we have several here in Oklahoma and I’m not Native American , well some Cherokee blood ,and the deal with them is a lot of them that wern’t full blood and didn’t look Indian didn’t want anyone to know it and never got on the tribal roles, in the old days it was considerd shameful,to be native American

  18. SeekerKC says:

    @kamphwagon1 It’s rampant thru Native American tribes as a whole, really. You see short periods of resurgance when the youth become interested in ritual, tradition, & language, but there are too few. Now entire languages, folk & medicinal lore, & belief systems are lost. It’s easier to go to CVS to pick up meds than it is to dig tubers, I know, but the true price paid is incalculable. We are all the poorer (& unhealthier) for it. It’s times like these I wish I was smarter, you know?

  19. barbiieghurrlx says:

    it really makes me mad, that we have technology so advanced & they can’t fix this stupid oil spill, i bet like they don’t even care.. &+ everything is dying too.

  20. mycompasstv says:

    thanks NG for not censoring this clip in Canada

  21. NatureWasFirst says:

    Feel so sorry for those who are affected in these areas as much as the wildlife.
    Damn our constant selfish ‘want’ for Oil & profits.

  22. Sharter189 says:

    @Sharter189 ok. your awesome 😀

  23. NightforDays says:

    God bless these people

  24. takenflame says:

    This community is no more… and anyone else who lives off fishing in Louisiana for that matter. No one wants to leave, but they’re gonna have to anyway. It’s gonna be a dead zone in a matter of months.

  25. Sharter189 says:

    @tripleleap hahaha look at us arguing over this stupid shit =p
