    You know for the most part the major news outlets have already gave up on this story.

    Earthling X says:

    “The entire planet has been “annexed” by big business interests the moment our society embraced a profit oriented economy. The sick, the hungry and the environment has been undermined in exchange for the “holy profit”. The future of this planet has been in their “drawing boards” without our participation. We can’t talk them out or shout them to death! We have to play it on our terms!”

  6. Khultan says:

    The ultimate goal is to generate profits and line pockets. Safety issues are secondary. Apparently. This is nothing new. BP just happened to catch the fallout.

  13. judyrusso says:

    A clear message needs to be sent to BP that a disaster like this must not happen again and they must now be held accountable. Enough! Our oceans are too precious to become a wasteland. When they said the name ‘Haliburton’ , it left a bad taste in my mouth. Kudos to Ken Abbot for having the courage to speak out. And kudos to 60 minutes!

  14. speakoutbrad says:

    @Viracocha711
    The Democrats are in control and Republicans can’t block anything inclluding border control in case you haven’t noticed. Also neither party seems eager to seal the border. Why is that I wonder. Is it both parties are crooked and making billions off the drug trade, are hoping for more votes, need the other party to blame. Hmmmm. Democrats have no high ground on this one. They can ACT and REFUSE TO!!!

  15. speakoutbrad says:

    BP needs a new behaviour and slogan. Safety first,Safety formost, Safety before profit or ego. Then, BP can Safely and Responsibly provide our energy needs. It would take a new executive mind, set smaller egos and thoughtfulness. These Executives who make the bad decisions that cost lives should be tried and then join the Dead. A more explicit warning couldn’t be given to other bigshot, know it all, a dollar at any cost corporate thugs. Money can’t buy wisdom,class or respectability. See above

  16. jimboo40 says:

    @Viracocha711

    Wow. You said that 45% of people in America will vote based on ________. Then I said, you could get that 45% if your party changes its stance on ________. Then you further clarified that ________ “doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with the SAD state of this country”.

    I’ll reiterate: Change _______ and you’ll get 45% of people to be more than happy to agree with you on the issues that DO cause the SAD state of this country.

    Common sense? Please. You don’t even follow your own logic.

  17. crocfme says:

    Did Haliburton buy up every share in oil spill clean-up company “Boots and coots” 8 days before the disaster even happenned because they employ the best gypsies with the best crystal balls, or is something truly ugly going on here?

  18. Viracocha711 says:

    @jimboo40 The Republicans will block every effort for immigration reform as they have so many times in the past! The Republicans have to have the illegal immigration issue to run on every election as a means of FEAR to get folks to the polls! Same applies for abortion & Gay marriage as the GOP knows this will get the religious folks to the polls. Once in power they fr the Banks & Corp. to run wild and WE THE PEOPLE pay!

  19. Viracocha711 says:

    @jimboo40 If you think the abortion issue & gays getting married have ANYTHING to do with SAD state of this country then that speaks for itself. You are so blinded by religion that you have no COMMON SENSE! As far as immigration goes Obama has done far more than Bush. Deportations are up 7%, military on the border & Obama is pushing for more… HOWEVER…continued….

  20. MrTabby5000 says:

    @Viracocha711

    The republicans think their jesus is coming back,sometime.

  21. MrTabby5000 says:

    @DrooBazooka

    And the GOM is dead,it was murdered for profit.

  22. dout9929 says:

  23. jimboo40 says:

    @Viracocha711

    So…. all the Democrats have to do to never have an oil spill again is stop killing babies, keep marriage between a man and a woman, and secure America’s borders? I promise you we’d let the Evolution thing slide.

    We’ll if that’s it, why aren’t you guys doing it?
    Doesn’t sound so hard.
    You’d get 40-45% vote…right?
    And Republicans would stop running the country into the ground.

    Oh wait, you won’t budge on your beliefs, but you expect them to.

  24. wexpat says:

    And……. the risks of wind and solar will be managed how?

  25. Viracocha711 says:

    @DrooBazooka The USA is in a nasty spiral downward! The huge problem is 45% of this nation will vote for Republicans for basically Abortion, Discrimination of gays, Evolution in public schools & unrealistic immigration policy. So, as long as the corporations & the wealthy have can use religion to get at least 40-45% of the vote this will continue. Both parties have blame but the Republicans have ran this country into the GROUND!!
