Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico 2010 and 20 Dead Turtles are washed Ashore. In possibly the worst environmental disaster since Alaskas Exxon Valdez spill in the late 1980s, the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico just keeps getting worse and worse. Not only has the government issued a 10 day fishing ban, but now dead turtles are said to be washing up ashore. The oil spill started after an explosion at the Deepwater Horizon rig, an offshore drilling platform ran by Transocean for BP. This caused the platform to capsize and an oil head to rupture. For many days now, estimates point to somewhere around 200000 gallons of crude oil are being poured into the waters of the Gulf. The Gulf produces between 1/4 and 1/3 of all the nations sea food. Prices of sea food will likely rise as the supply dwindles. Entire families could lose their livelihood and already states are pushing for the area to be declared a disaster so that those affected by the oil slick can receive money set aside from the government. 3. thordoggie says:

@annie46664 annie…haven’t you figured out my question about ethanol and the price of bacon yet? i gave you the answer… and you still can’t give an answer?

as I said, please don’t vote. life is too serious to be left in the hands of ignorant, uneducated people

  4. thordoggie says:

@jezzyby47 solar, wind etc can SUPPLEMENT our current energy needs, but will never replace the convenience and efficiency of oil, voal and natural gas. not that those are extremely efficient means, but far more efficient than “alternative” sources.

suppose the sun doesn’t shine for awhile…or the wind doesn’t blow?

All I’m saying is there’s no cost-effective replacement for oil etc.

you’re still on the playground..with all the other children

  5. jezzyby47 says:

@thordoggie – Instead of being negative, do some research.
Solar is no 1 on that list.
There are cars that run on water that have been supressed by the worlds governments and major oil companies because they want to sell you more oil at grossly over-exaggerated prices. How dare you have a go at someone who puts a good point forward with your ‘non’ argument which is no more than ‘prove it’. Are we still in the playground?

  6. StigmataBOB1 says:

Pass on the cost to the consumer. That is how it works. I have seen an increase at the pump already and not only BP. It is a rotten business. They would destroy Earth for a profit.
Drill baby Drill, Is their mantra. And McCain, and Palin. To think republicans voted for them instead of Ron Paul.
Now look at what we have. Take a good look.

  7. thordoggie says:

@annie46664 you don’t get it.. you .haven’t figured it out yet, even when I put the answer in your hands

please…don’t ever vote. life is far too important to be left to assholes like you

  8. thordoggie says:

@annie46664 run and hide with your tail between your legs my friend. you obviously don’t have the education to debate me!

but i’ll give you one more chance…espouse on the connection between ethanol and the price of bacon.

hint…pigs eat corn….ethanol is made from corn.

now show youtubers how smart you are….i already gave you the answer.

  9. annie46664 says:

thordoggie ~ Get a life & then live some of it ‘loser’.
    Over ‘n out for good!

  10. thordoggie says:

@annie46664 huh? were those your examples of “harmless, inexpensive, tried and true alternatives?”

What the fuck are you talking about?

my screenneame says it all? huh? what are you talking about?

( oh my 200 pound english mastiff is named Thor…get where the screenname comes from?)

one more paragraph of total idiocy to back up your first stupid post. get an education

  11. annie46664 says:

thordoggie ~ At least you did us all proud by quitting any necessary ‘GUESSING’ ~ since your OWN choice of user name says it all! ONLY ~ obviously, not of any ‘thorough breed’ ~ but hey! maybe that’s because you were unable to spell such? :)You would be the LAST doggie that I’d waste any more ‘breath’ or time on, so forget bru! The fact that you haven’t any notion of the NUMEROUS efficacious alternatives, simply proves your total lack of knowledge! Now back to grazing &/or listening to MS Media.

  12. thordoggie says:

@annie46664 let me guess ….you got a public education right?

I’ve rarely heard as much stupidity as you expressed in one paragraph.

Harmless, inexpensive, tried and true alternatives? please give examples.

our most precious planet has blood? huh?

  13. annie46664 says:

This is tragic! OMG! Especially since there is absolutely NEVER any need to remove oil from Earth anyway! If the bastards aka VAMPIRES weren’t so greedy, we would’ve all converted to harmless, readily available & very inexpensive tried & tested alternatives.
Blinking oil results in unnecessary WARS, assassinations, massive pollution, countless health issues & harm to our most precious planet through removing her BLOOD!
It’s DISGRACEFUL! Hopefully something like this will create a turning point!
