Coast Guard needs a very big tent with chimney to cover and trap the spill early down there. They will only have to chase around the ocean to siphon minority of leaks after the chimney can channel the spill to tankers on sea surface.

Coast Guard can move the tent aside or lift it up for leaving some room for BP when BP have to work on the cap, and then put it back on covering the spill when BP is not doing anything.

The tent can be raised with sea water inflatable pillars anchored on seabed.

can’t you see.. it’s still about money. it always has been. these mortals are only concerned about profit, not life on earth. these “humans” are killing the planet, can’t you see, they are responsible for every environmental problem you’ve ever heard of. climate changes? sea level rising? everything was in perfect balance until “we” came along

@Hawkins1117 I don’t like political figures or government for that matter.

  6. Hawkins1117 says:

@bdynamyte now that is true. the blame is on bp but it is obamas and bp’s responcibility to clean it up. i don’t care much for obama. he wanted to become president for politacal reasons, i don’t think that he wanted to be a military leader at all. that is why i voted for mccain.

  7. bdynamyte says:

@Hawkins1117 The untied states president is in control of an entire military. he could vary easily send out ships and crew to help clean. he is golfing. it’s not entirely his fault that it happened but he is not doing anything to fix it and that is his fault

  8. Hawkins1117 says:

@bdynamyte it isn’t obamas fault. you cant just point the finger at people all of the time. it is the companys fault because they never did think of what to do if this kind of thing ever happened. they werent prepared. and the people that live on the gulf shore are taking the hit for it. i don’t blame them for being mad. the price of sea food has gone up a lot since then. also in New Orleans you can smell the oil if the wind blows just right

  9. Hawkins1117 says:

@capichow actually the method has been used before, not for a leak. that is what they do to plug up old shafts from oil platforms that have already been used. usually it is used with golf balls and pices of car tire though

  10. capichow says:

hit a bat on the top of my skull, see if my head busts, now hit a bat on a novelty head that you built that suppost to be like a real skull see witch one busts, kant manipulate the earths crust only time can do that, NOT MUD OR CONCRETE..what kind of drugs is this world on, JUST BLOW IT UP AND START FRESH, im sorry world if i sound retarded 🙁 Maybe they should wrap duckt tape a round it with the rubber ball……..no umm gorilla tape yeah its stronger. im gonna cry hard now bye im a retard

    bullshit

  15. Plomomedia says:

@auspiciousbunny on that we agree 100%. the media isn’t demanding more, so we must as citizens. we must push this idea that they are working only in the interest of saving the well and eventually extracting the oil for commercial use. they dont give a fuck about the environment or the marine life in the ocean.

  16. sunisid says:

where are u… Mr;Obama? are u playing glof….why killing the globe?

  17. Plomomedia says:

@auspiciousbunny I agree completely. and btw, was the “junk shot” even broadcast on the spill cam? because that was the option, as far as i could tell, that would work but that would make the well obsolete. I think they’re feigning… i think they’re pretending that they’ve tried everything. could even be that they didnt televise the junk shot and just claimed that they tried it. the predicament is that BP cant be trusted and yet they’re the only ones with the tech to get down there…

  18. auspiciousbunny says:

@leftcoaster63 the “poor guy” is just some lost soul corporate shill. He got paid to do his job, and is getting what he deserves.

  19. auspiciousbunny says:

    @jojojosmart amen

  20. auspiciousbunny says:

@Plomomedia this is a bunch of crap… The engineering community could come up with a way to stop this spill. I wouldn’t be very surprised if they didn’t have a way to stop this already. This is a travesty. They want to save their precious oil, whether or not they destroy an entire ocean and the livelihoods of thousands of people. I am sure they are just biding their freaking time waiting to figure out how to save their well.

  21. morfius93638 says:

this hole thing is a cluster f#$@ why would the desighners of thisoil platform not think of this pipe failure as a possible risk we all know that pipes break and for this fancy billon dollar corp. to just not bother putting in under ground shut off valves is crazy and on the other hand it would not supprise me to find that this was some dirty little eco terror plot to keep us from drilling our own oil

  22. YouKnowTheyExist says:

Steel, lead, stone, some kind of heavy shot or large ball bearings would drop down through the oil flow. Anyone looking at the oil flow would guess MUD can’t go down of its own, too much surface area and not enough weight. Roll steel or lead down a one mile pipe, don’t stop until the oilpipe is full. Screw the pump concept. Gravity and steel will shut it down. As it slows, use smaller and smaller steel or lead shot. Stop using rubber.

  23. bdynamyte says:

@leppy111 Obama’s administration exempted BP you fuck. Obama isn’t doing shit to clean it up. he’s playing golf. Obama allowed drilling allong the gulf. this is Obama’s fault

  24. leppy111 says:

This is not Obamas fault, it is collectively the fault of BP, Haliburton and Trans-oceanic. I don’t know what the present administration can do? nor do I know what they could do if the Republicans were in charge. This is caused shortcuts, greed and incompetence. The expense of cleaning this mess up will far outweigh any money they would have made from this well.

  25. Plomomedia says:

@Valthecatlover “mud” is just a name for the material they’re using, it’s not necessarily real mud.
