UPDATE:Hundreds seek jobs, but BP’s not hiring in Miss.
BILOXI — A claims fair in Biloxi, Miss., drew hundreds of out-of-work residents hoping to file claims or get a job with BP. The fair was organized by a coalition of nonprofits and paid for with an ,000 grant from British Petroleum.

THEODORE, Ala. (AP) — The first of two relief wells being drilled to stop the Gulf oil gusher could be done by the end of the month, BP officials say, but if that doesn’t succeed, one backup being considered is transferring the crude to non-producing underwater wells that are miles away.
