GRAND ISLE, La. – Local Grand Isle-based fishing vessels participating in the vessels of opportunity program moor up to check in at the incident command post dock, Aug. 14, 2010.

Of the 1,430 response-wide vessels of opportuntiy, approximately 134 vessels ranging from shrimpers to oyster boats are working for the Grand Isle incident command providing platforms for boom, skimming, safety and logistics operations.

Safety personnel checked in the branch’s vessel of opportunity fleet as they returned to work following relocation for storm avoidance of Tropical Depression Five.

Breton Sound fishing vessels recalled
The Deepwater Horizon Joint Unified Command in Houma recalled commercial fishing vessels operating in Breton Sound after four crew members reported health problems Wednesday afternoon, according to a Wednesday night news release.
