VENICE, La. — Tha Hua, a contract worker for the Deepwater Horizon response cleanup, discusses an invention he created to assist in the cleanup process in the Plaquemines Parish area, Sept. 4, 2010. Hua invented the “boom eater,” a machine that reels in sorbent boom and allows for a more efficient clean-up process and better time management. Audubon is working closely with many other organizations including Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, NOAA, and the U.S. Coast Guard to monitor the situation and to prepare for the arrival of stranded and injured marine wildlife.
