Democracy NOW! – DN! 2/2 The massive BP oil well leak in the Gulf of Mexico has reached the Louisiana coastline as fears grow of a worse disaster than the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill. 5000 barrels of oil a day continue to spew into the water beneath the site of the Deepwater Horizon rig that exploded and sank last week. Newly-released documents show government regulators exempted BP from a comprehensive environmental review of the project that resulted in the spill. The Minerals Management Service granted BP a categorical exclusion from a full review before approving the project . Obama recieved 3 million dollars from BP. The media silence is mind-boggling, to say the least

If you continue doing business with any of these companies: Reuters Group, Rolls-Royce, IBM, Motorola, Intel Corporation, McDonald’s, and Bank of America, all BP partners, while this oil spill contaminates our oceans, you are a liar and your voice deserves to be silent. I pledge to not spend a single dollar of extra money on dining out, entertainment, clothing, electronics, or any other non-essential item until this oil spill is completely cleaned out of our oceans. So help me God.

@ThisBoyTV Wh-aaat? What about Exxon Valdez?

  12. Visfen says:

As long as the companies in charge pay for the clean up and losses by other companies (like fishing industry) I don’t get the problem. Things can always go wrong, we have to take some risks.

  14. ThisBoyTV says:

A spill anywhere in the Arctic area could never be cleaned up. The cold water and short summer would make it impossible to do so.
